British Journal of Ophthalmology is seeking submissions for a topic collection on Recent Advances in Ocular Surface Infection.

Ocular infections continue to be a leading cause of morbidity and vision loss worldwide, with most patients treated empirically due to challenges of typical microbiology work up. The collection aims to provide a current perspective on the challenges in ocular surface infection, including the paucity or absence of new and/or naval antimicrobial drugs, emerging antimicrobial resistance, pathogens, new diagnosis methods such as metagenomic testing for pathogen identification, as well as therapeutic options.
